Ben Shattuck, a winner of the PEN/Robert J. Dau Prize for Emerging Writers celebrates the publication of his collection of stories "The History of Sound"
Sydnee Allen of Petoskey High School. Sydnee graduates with a flawless 4.0 grade-point average and a resume full of advanced, honors, and dual-enrollment courses with North Central Michigan College. Sydnee was active in her school and community, volunteering with numerous organizations such as Versiti Blood, Salvation Army, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society and Camp Daggett. Sydnee was also a member of Key Club, National Honors Society, Student Advisory Council and Petoskey High School Mentor. Sydnee plans to enroll at Central Michigan University in the fall to study education and begin a career as a secondary school mathematics teacher. After college, Sydnee would like to help fill the teacher shortage at a rural and/or disadvantaged school and make a difference in students’ lives.
